Captain Dyado Nikola Square - Tryavna

Tryavna has preserved its Bulgarian revival ensemble-square, the only one inthe country. Captain Dyado Nikola square has almost entirely preserved its authentic appearance. Many public building-monuments are situated there but among them the Clock Tower stands out. It was built in 1814. The tower is one of the symbols of the town and is a monument of national significance. In respect of architecture the separate parts of the tower are made in harmonious proportions. Temples - Varna

The cathedral “St. Assumption” is one of the most famous buildings in Varna and it is a symbol of the town. It is situated at the very center of our sea capital. Impressive and beautiful, it is a landmark which you must not miss. In architectural respect the building resembles the temples in Petersburg. The foundation stone of the cathedral was laid by prince Alexander I Battenberg in 1880 and the construction continued several years and for its erection are used mainly materials from the surrounding areas of Varna.
