In the heart of North-western Bulgaria,160 meters above sea level, near the Ogosta River, is situated the beautiful town of Montana. The city is a regional center. It is an heir to the old Roman fortified settlement of Kastra ad Montanezium- now famous as Montana. Today remains of the fortress of the same name are located near the town. In the 3rd century the city had been the most important settlement in the Dakia region. It is mentioned under the name of Ripenzis and is destroyed by the Barbarians. Ribaritsa - Ribaritsa

The village of Ribaritsa is located 12km to the south-east of Teteven. It is situated at the foot of Teteven Balkan Mountain along the Beli Vit River valley. The village is part of an interesting tourist route. The charm of Ribaritsa village is in the numerous little country houses along the banks of the river, which with their architecture make the visitor sink into the unique atmosphere of calmness and home coziness.
