Poda Lake (the most eastern part of Mandrensko Lake) has been a protected territory since 1989. It is located near Burgas (to the left of the road for Sozopol) and covers an area of about 100 hectares. It is a natural habitat of lower and higher plants, as well as of 168 invertebrates, 6 fish species, 14 amphibian and reptile species, 240 bird species and 15 mammal species. Here nest the stag of a fallow deer (the symbol of Poda), ibis, and small greyl egret and red heron. In order to admire the bird’s life you can use the watch tower that rises in the countryside.
